Guru Purnima.



The Full Moon Day in the month of Ashadha(July-August) is Know as Guru Purnima. Guru Purnima is the day devotess offer puja(worship) to their Guru. The festival dedicated to the teacher. This festival is traditionally by Hindus, Jains and Buddhista, to pay their respects to their reacher.
Guru Purnima is celebrated to the children and gift give your teacher. Children's wear new dress and going the scholl and full enjoy this day
.As part of the celebration, devotees present gifts in form of sweets and flowers to their spiritual gurus. It's an ideal time to commence spiritual lessons from a guru. Farmers give great significance to this day because it is believe that the advent of much-needed rains will shower upon their crops and plantations.

Vat Purinma.

Vat Purnima is observed in Maharashtra. Purnima means "full moon" and  is celebrated  full moon day of the month of jyestha(May-June).Women observed a fast and tie threads around a banyan tree and tie threads around a banyan tree and pray for the  well being of their husband. The women keep a fast for their husband.They casual  wear saree and ornaments.Their fast is observed the whole night till the next morning.
The Women,s worship a banyan(vat) tree.Women's pray for good health for their husband.Womens give to the tree, holy sprinkle red powder(Kumkum) on it, and wrap cotton threads around tree's trunk. Then they seven times around the tree(called the parikrama or pradakshina).

Raja festival in odisha.

Raja parba or Mithunu Sankarnti.
Raja is a important festival in odisha for girl. The festival falls on the odiya month of Asadha(June-July).The festival celebrite in four days First day called at:-Pahili Raja.
        Second day call at:-Mithuna Sankarniti.
        Third day call at:- Bhu daaha or Basi Raja.
          Fourth day call at:- Vasumati Snan.                              
This festival observed in agriculture people and the girl's wake up in the early morning and bathing. During these three days women and girls take rest from work and wear new saree and some girls fashion dress, Alata and ornaments.The festival celebrate  in all india but in cuttack, puri and Balasore is most important.
Legend:-The reason behind this festival is giving rest to the earth. So the people don't touch the earth during the festival.The unmarried girls don't toush the earth with barefoot.
Time of Merry making:- During this festival various kind of Dolis are used by people, such as 'Ram Doli', 'Charki Doli', 'Pata Doli', 'Dandi Doli' etc. Rajo Songs specially meant for the festival speak of love, affection, respect, social behaviour and everything of social order that comes to the minds of the singers.The boy playing in Kabadi and cricket.
Main attraction of Raja:- The "poda pitha" and "Raja Pana" is main attracation of Raja.

Makar Sankranti and Makar chaula.

Makar Sankranti: Makar Sankranti is a hindu festival. The festival celebrate in  two parts of India and Nepal. The festival celebrate in fix date and January 14 sometimes may be in January 15.  Makar Sankranti is one of very few Hindu festival that are celebrated on the same day every year.
History:  This festival celebrate in the farmer. This festival observed in the hindu calender of Magh 1st (January - 15).
In odisha people preper in makar chaula for Prasad. Farmer celebrate in  wear new dress and enjoy this day.
Makar Sankranti story: This festival worship in the Surya Dev (lord sun).Lord shani is the ruling Deity of Makar 
Rashi(capricorn). In astrology Surya Dev and Shani Dev don't get along well, thus Makar Sankranti is the day on which past bitterness is forgotten and new beginning  are made.
On this day of Makar Sankranti, Surya Dev is worshiped.

Pandu Purnim and Bada Osha.

Christmas day and Bada Osha(Pandu Purnima).

Pandu osha is a odia festival dedicate to yudhistira.This is dedicate to pandumaharaj the father of pandave. The women worship is Yamraj on this day.The women worship the sons.
This festival falls on purnima the odia month of Margashirsha(December-25). According to a story, the king of kalinga had no children after he and the queen observed the Pandu osha. Basically the festival celebrate in the girl. Girls wakeup in early morning and clean the roads and by using a special jhaadu through out the Margasira month. 
This process ends on pandu purnima. end of Margasira mas, Girls are doing a puja called as "Pandu Osha" at evening wear the new dress. Girls are doing this osha for his brother.
 This ritual ends on pandu purnima or pandu osha.

Guru Bara Puja

Margasira Masa or Manabasa Guru Bara Puja.
 Manabasa Gurubaar  is a great festival in odisha.It is worship of Goddess laxmi. Manabasa Gurubar Lakshmi vrata is observed during gurubar or Thursday in the month of Margasira(November- December), Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. This puja is performed to get Sukh, Shanti and Aishwary- Comfort, peace and prosperity.
The women wake up very early morning and clean the house with broom-stick.The house is decorated with artistic Odias alpana(called chita).A pot made of bamboo canes(called adda diba) used the olden days for measuring paddy(Know as Mana) is filled up to the brink with freshly harvested paddy.The women wear the white and red color cotton saree and worship the Goddess laxmi.
Wash the floor and decorate it with jhoti painting of rice pasta. on a  low table(Khatuli), spread some newly harvested paddy grains of white color. fill a mana (a measuring pot made of cane) with such grains and place it on the low table. wash three betel nuts in turmeric water and place them on colourad cloth.Then invoke Mahalakshmi with lamp and incense and offer three offerings of meals in puja and worship the laxmi maa. In this festivals we can ten verities of Cake(Pitha) am

Snana Purnima

Snana Purnima and hati vesha.
Snana Purnima is the most important festival in odisha. The Snana yatra is a bathing festival.This festival observed in the odia month of jaeshtha(June). It is important festival in jagannath devotess.
Held in the full moon day of the month jaeshtha.This festival is also at once  held in all other important Puri, it attracts thousand of visitors and pilgrims from all over country.One the day of the snana yatra, the deities are bathed with 180 pots water.
This snana purnima others name is hati vesha.Lord jagannatha and lord Balaram then puts on the elephants dress, Hati Vesha, and lady Subhadra wear a lotus flower vesha. Lord jagannatha and lord Balaram wear traditional white color saree and Goddess Subhadra wear yellow color traditional silk pata saree.
